Keys to an Incredible Life

Living an Incredible life is much simpler than we all make it seem. An Incredible Life is a mindset, a state of mind, if you will. Very easily, you can take the lid off of your thinking and move from forgettable to Incredible! Once you start living out on the branch where the fruit of life is, you will notice that every day problems and obstacles no longer become hindrances or stumbling blocks that get in your way and keep you from fulfilling your Incredible life goals and dreams. In your personal or professional life, the keys to an Incredible life are simple:

1. Consult your higher source for everything you need, want, believe and dream. Make your source, (mine is the One and True Living God) your CEO. Give control over your destiny to Him, He will handle your dreams with care. He will line up relationships that are Incredible!

2. Evaluate and re-evaluate your associations – you become like the 5 people you spend your time with. Each quarter, I make a list of the people who are in my space and I re-evaluate their place in my life. If, when I think of them, I am inspired and believe that they are an Incredible part of my world, they get a +. If, when I think of them, I feel negativity or am perplexed at the thought of the value they add to my existence, they get a -. If I feel absolutely nothing one way of another, they get a /. I am sure that by now you’ve guessed it, + signs get to stay! – signs have to go and / signs have one more quarter to influence my life Incrediblly so that they can stay or they have to hit the road. Constantly evaluating your associations will help to ensure that the Incredible person you are becoming does not get jaded or crowded by Incredible snatchers – those people who only want to suck the Incredible out of you!

3.Make a Vision Board or Goal Poster. Habakkuk 2:2 in the Old Testament of the King James Bible says “write the vision and make it plain.” It goes on to say, “write it on tablets [goal poster].” Where are you going in this life? Ask yourself the following question, “What can I begin to do today to make my life Incredible?” Follow that question with this one: “If I could be doing anything in the world and money was not an object, what would I be doing?” Then write it down. From there, brainstorm and come up with more ideas that all lead back to that first question. An old business model says that “what gets attended to gets done”….You want to make sure that your 16×20 sized goal is back by a 16×20 sized POSTER or VISION BOARD. Don’t believe that you will remember it, write it down. In fact, get some post-it notes and stick smaller versions of your goals all over the place to serve as a constant reminder that you can achieve anything you put your mind to!

4. Do something everyday that gets you closer to the vision you have for an Incredible life. Daily activity creates habits and habits create consistency, consistency creates confidence and consistent confidence is the gateway to dreams realized!

5. Live with PACE

P- Plan with Purposeful Passion: For all that you do, ensure that it has purpose and your passion is fueled. Plan so that your goals are being realized with every plan made.
A – Achieve with Abundant Attitude: As you set goals, decide now to achieve them with an attitude of abundance. Keep in mind that abundance is not material; it is living above strife and contention.
C – Create with Consistent Confidence: As you think of your goals and dreams develop the confidence and belief that you can carry them out. Remember, you are exactly who or what you say that you are. More importantly, you are exactly who you think you are so have confidence that you can achieve your vision. Although life had highs and lows, develop a consistent approach for creating your vision. Start with what you do better than anyone else in the world, usually you will find your passion there!
E – Execute with Enthusiastic Expectation: There is no need to plan, achieve or create if you are not going to execute. But don’t just do it, do it well. Additionally, have an enthusiastic expectation that you will grow, learn and experience new things and do what you set out to do. Believe that the power lies within you to be Incredible.

Believe in yourself as I believe in you!

Get Inspired, Feel Incredible!

Always remember, if you can see the invisible, God can do the impossible so dream the INCREDIBLE!

The Incredible You – You Are Closer Than You Think

Simply put, being Incredible is the realization that you were born that way. So many of us allow life to beat us down and prevent us from walking into our birthright. Sound familiar?

Do you want to live an Incredible Life? Do you desire to be considered Incredible in your own right? Are you ready for this, it will be mind blowing….The only thing separating you from the Incredible You is yourself. Your mindset is the key to unlocking passion, abundance, confidence and expectation in your life. Get excited, you are only a step away from living a PACE life.

Being Incredible has absolutely nothing to do with what others think of you, being Incredible is about self-esteem, self-worth and self-love. Do you believe that you possess the keys to an Incredible life? I believe you do!

When I was twenty-five years old, the bottom fell out of my life. I felt like I had lost everything because I allowed a man to define my worth. When the dust settled and I began to pick up the pieces of my shattered existence, I realized that I already possessed everything I needed to turn my thought process and mindset around. I was the master of my mind and mediocrity was removed from my vocabulary. Because today, I know that I am living an Incredible Life, I was able to finally write a book about that chapter in my life. If You Understood My Past, You Would Understand My Praise chronicles that life’s chapter. But if you understood my past, you would understand why today, helping others define their Incredibleness is so important to me.

What changed? Something simple, I started to believe in myself and I developed a personal relationship with the Lord, giving myself permission to be my best and march to the beat of my own drum. I forgave myself for the past, those wrongs suffered me as well as those wrongs I did to others out of anger, rage or sheer discontentment. I began to dream and think about what I wanted to do with my life whereas before, I wanted what others wanted for me. My passion was born out of my brokenness and I desired to change my outlook so that I could later help others to do the same.

As I underwent this transformation, I stumbled upon these self-determined keys to an Incredible life. I now desire to share them with the world. The keys are simple and indicated below. Stay tuned for my upcoming book, which will highlight these keys, expand upon them with supporting biblical text and offer solutions to make the key changes and mind shifts necessary to walk into your Incredibleness.

These keys will lead you to unleashing the Incredible You, a you bursting with passion, abundance, confidence and expectation:

1. Trust that God has your best interest at heart.
2. Have a heart that is ready to serve others.
3. Experience life through eyes of faith.
4. In all things, be grateful. An attitude of gratitude fills your cup.
5. Never give up on yourself no matter what others may say.
6. Create a life where everything is in proper balance and perspective.
7. Release yourself from the issues, hurts and struggles of your past.
8. Expect God’s unmerited favor in your life.
9. Decide that vision is your key to victory.
10. Increase your self-image; you are who you say you are.
11. Be who you were created to be.
12. Live a life that is pleasing to God.
13. Execute your goals and dreams with enthusiastic expectation.
14. You already possess the keys to Incredible Success, believe it!
15. Offer yourself the opportunity to overcome obstacles and adversity with passion and promise.
16. Unleash God’s promises for an Incredible life!

You can do it, I can help.
Be Incredible!

5 Ways to Minimize Mediocrity

5 Ways to Minimize Mediocrity

According to the IOE dictionary, mediocrity means thinking or experiencing beneath your inherent right or privilege. I realized a long time ago about the self-fulfilling prophecies that accompany the thoughts of mediocrity. Whether it is a family member, a teacher, a co-worker or a so called friend, people can help to plant these subliminal messages of mediocrity into our spirits which will enable us to think as they see us. What I know for sure, is that those thoughts can prevent us from ever walking into the greatness that we want for ourselves if we don’t call our friends, loved ones, etc out on the thoughts that they think toward us. It may not have seemed like a big deal when your best friend crushed your dream; maybe you weren’t even really sure that you really wanted that to happen in your life. So with his/her disbelief ingrained subconsciously in your mind, you began to talk yourself out of that which you greatly desired. Sound familiar?

Maybe it’s not you I’m talking about. I (I’ll tell on myself!) spent a lot of time around Incredible SNATCHERS, those people who were sent to negate all talent and confidence that has been earmarked and reserved for my success and I allowed their thoughts toward me to sway me from my dream until I realized that my purpose doesn’t change because people don’t have faith enough to believe that it can/will happen in my life and at that moment, I began to minimize mediocrity in my life.

I decided that I with the help and grace of God would be the comander of my fate. I decided that I could do anything to which i put my mind and that I would become a BBB – Belief Barrier Breaker. Because of that mind shift, there are so many things that I have acccomplished that I should not even be here to do. I graduated high school, the first and only in my family and I am not the oldest. I have a college degree, I own my own home, I have my own small business that is thriving, and the list goes on and on. I do not share these things to brag on me, I share them to empower you to believe that anything is possible when you remove mediocrity from your vocabulary. Maybe under achieving is okay for some, but why do you have to under achieve when you have a desire to achieve greatness?

To help you to shift from mediocre to magnificent, I have included a few quick tips that will make all the difference:

1.

Define who you are based on your own goals, wants and desires. No one else should be able to determine your worth. To give your self an honest assessment and write out your personal declaration, which will include who you are today and who you are in the future, you will need to spend some quiet time with yourself in an environment that is conducive to positive thought and self-reflection.

2.

Minimize your associations with people who don’t believe in you. Every day in life, we are faced with tons of choices – what to wear, what to eat, what to watch on TV, listen to on the radio, who to spend our time with. Make an empowering choice by deciding that you are worth more than the garbage you subconsciously plant in your mind. Remember, your imput determines your output. Let’s keep it real, some of your friends are garbage, they stink and you need to take them out. What I mean is, there are television shows, books and radio stations that were created for your edification. Spend time filling yourself with positive, life giving affirmations and entertainment choices. Tell me, what good does knowing the latest dance do for the Incredible in You? I think you get my point.

3.

Speak the Incredible, I know this may sound crazy but what you speak about you will bring about. I talk about this in great detail because it is so important. If you don’t have anything empowering to say, don’t say anything at all. If you want to live, you must learn to speak life. When you learn to speak the incredible you will find your own life giving words of affirmation as a roadmap to discovering the Incredible things that await you when you learn to speak with authority, passion, abundance, confidence and expectation.

4.

Do something everyday that leads to your goals and dreams. Maybe it will be a baby step, but a step in the right direction will ultimately land you where you want to be! Keep walking with belief in your heart and action in your plan and you will land in the Incredible. Habits create character altering behaviors and if it becomes your habit to do something each day to break the cycle of mediocrity, it will break expeditiously. I learned that when I fed my dreams each day by writing faith confessions and believed those things that I wrote down, little by little I saw the fear eliminating itself from my life.

5.

Practice. Prior practice prevents piss poor performance. Practice your life as you want it. Start small, if that makes it easier. If you want to change your negative attitude, slowly stop the amount of “don’ts, no’s, I can’ts,” etc that you utter or think over the course of a day. If you want to minimize mediocrity, you have to do it anyway. No matter what it looks like, you have to walk in faith and reduce the sensation of fear. Fear is mediocrity. It holds you captive and prevents you from the possibility of success.

Remember, minimizing mediocrity is a choice and it is your choice alone. Do not let anyone else talk you out of your dreams – they are yours for a reason. If the dream has been placed in your heart, it is your non-negotiable decision to see it through.

You’ve done goal setting before! Kind of…

You’ve done goal setting before! Kind of…

Today is the day you decide to pay off your credit card debt. Or maybe you make your mind up that your passion or hobby could prove to be profitable if you formed a business around it. Perhaps you have an interest in leading a healthier lifestyle. Whatever your aspiration, it is important to set a goal and have a plan of action that accompanies it. The bible says in Proverbs 21:5 (NIV) the plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.

How many times have you heard that “you have to do something differently in order to get something differently”? I’ve heard it too many times to count, but the relevant point here is that goal setting helps us identify what things we need to do differently in order to make our goals a reality.

So if you have to do something differently (i.e. something unfamiliar), how is it that the title of this article is “You’ve done this before! Kind of…”? Consider the following scenarios:

  • Have you moved to a city or town where you knew absolutely no one?
  • Did you ever take a job without knowing or being proficient in all of the tasks required of you?

If you can recollect any such memory then you, my friend, have done what is necessary to set and achieve a goal. If you moved to a new city, you started chatting with your colleagues, or researching what your new locale had to offer and you stepped out and explored. If you took on a new job with responsibilities you were not completely familiar with, you increased your exposure to resources (ex. Colleagues, articles, Google) that made you comfortable with executing these tasks. My point is that you would not have otherwise done these things, but since becoming acclimated to your new environment or keeping that new job was important, you did a few things differently. You went out of your way and in the end, you made it happen.

So what if you don’t know where to start? Don’t fret. Open your mouth and start asking some questions. You’d be surprised at how many people would be willing to help you achieve your goal (and hold you accountable to it). Importantly, these folks can share their experiences of achieving similar goals. Also, do some research; there is no shortage of publications touting ways to eliminate debt, start a business, be healthy, or do whatever it is that you want to do. Sort through these ideas, and be careful not to “analyze until you’re paralyzed.” Achieving your goal ultimately requires action.

As a die-hard fan of Golden Girls, I can’t help but recall a moment when Dorothy says to Rose “If you take a chance in life, sometimes good things happen, and sometimes bad things happen. But if you don’t take a chance, nothing happens.” Take a chance at succeeding. Set a goal, be realistic about how you will achieve it, and act!

As Christians we walk be faith and not be sight, so at times we’ll have to take that chance in trust in the lord. Peter in the disciples were on the boat crossing the Sea of Galilee and saw Jesus approaching them walking on water. Though they were afraid, Jesus told them to be of good cheer, but Peter wasn’t happy of just that. He took a chance and told Jesus if it is you let me come to you via the ocean. Jesus, but as always our faith falters just as Peter’s did because he took his eyes off of Jesus but as soon as he cried out to Him, He saves us from our troubles. Just keep that in mind when you take that chance in life, keep your eyes on Him and he’ll lead you to victory.
